Le Mans headlines 2027 McLaren Trophy Europe calendar following record-breaking season

McLaren Trophy Europe will make its first-ever appearance at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe in 2027 after unveiling a five-round calendar that builds on the championship’s most successful season to date.

The historic visit to Le Mans comes following a record-breaking 2026 campaign that has seen McLaren Trophy Europe continue its growth. The championship has welcomed its largest grids to date, delivered its most competitive racing yet, while also attracting record live streaming audiences and the highest spectator attendance figures in the series’ history.

As the championship continues to establish itself as one of Europe’s leading one-make GT categories, the addition of Le Mans represents another significant milestone. Racing on the full 13.6-kilometre Circuit de la Sarthe during the week of the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans will provide competitors with an experience unique to McLaren Trophy Europe and unavailable in any other manufacturer-backed GT one-make championship.

Continuing as a major support series for the GT World Challenge Europe package, the 2027 season begins at Circuit Paul Ricard on 16-18 April before it heads to Le Mans on 10-12 June for what promises to be one of the defining moments in the history of the series. The calendar then visits Misano on 16-18 July, Circuit Zandvoort on 17-19 September and concludes at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 22-24 October, where the 2027 champions will be crowned.

The carefully selected calendar combines some of Europe’s most prestigious circuits with venues that reward driver skill, racecraft and consistency. Each event will feature two 50-minute races for the McLaren Artura Trophy Evo, with drivers competing in Pro, Pro-Am and Am categories.

“McLaren Trophy Europe has gone from strength to strength this season. We've welcomed more cars to the grid than ever before and, with that, we've seen the level of competition rise once again. Every weekend has delivered close, exciting racing, which is exactly what the championship was created to provide.

"As the series continues to grow, it was important that our 2027 calendar reflects the ambition of both McLaren Motorsport and our customer teams. Each circuit presents a unique challenge, but Le Mans remains a truly special highlight. Racing on the full Circuit de la Sarthe during the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an experience unlike any other and one that continues to make McLaren Trophy Europe unique within customer GT racing.

"The championship has established itself as an important part of the McLaren Motorsport ladder, providing drivers and teams with a competitive environment in which to develop. We're looking forward to building on this year's momentum and welcoming another strong grid for the 2027 season."
