McLaren Trophy, Europe will visit a new venue in 2026 as it strives to offer new challenges to its competitors. Once again an integral part of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS package, the championship will visit the stunning Grand Prix venue of Portimao, adding Portugal to the calendar for the first time in the revised schedule.
Excitingly, the new season will commence at Monza in May. The later-than-usual start will allow for a championship Prologue test and media day to take place ahead of the season, allowing teams and drivers plenty of preparation time.
The championship will then take up its our now customary place as a major support event for the 24 Hours of Spa on June 25-27. After a one-year break, the series will return to Misano on the Italian coast for rounds five and six. Also returning is the 2023 and 24 season-ending venue of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in early October, now taking place ahead of the final rounds at Portimao.
After the introduction of the McLaren Trophy EVO car and the new Pro and Papaya Cup categories this year, McLaren Trophy Europe has proven to be the home of close competitive racing and a clear springboard for drivers into GT racing. This has been reflected in strong media interest in 2025, with streaming, race attendance and social media numbers all substantially increasing year-on-year.
